Silverburn Shopping Centre

Pollok, Glasgow

Project Overview:

A major flagship project on Glasgow’s south-side, Silverburn was constructed to replace the old Pollok Shopping Centre, as part of the major regeneration works to the area, creating hundreds of new employment opportunities and providing the area with a focal-point for shoppers and diners alike.


The new mall was constructed in phases housing major names such as Marks & Spencers, Debenhams, Next and Tesco in flagship retail outlets.


It comprises some 970,000 sq.ft of retail space, containing over 80 retail units, with 4,500 free car parking spaces, and was constructed as a steel frame structure with concrete plank intermediate floors and clad with stone cladding, zinc cladding, extensive curtain walling and glazed panelling to the roof.


A major new junction of the M77 Motorway was also created to facilitate the increased traffic flow to the area.


The project is something of an iconic architectural landmark in Glasgow!
