Surveying Services
At GHPC, our Surveying Services are delivered from a background of extensive experience in the construction & insurance industries; we aim to provide you with a sensible, pragmatic and high quality service that truly adds value to your business.
Thanks to our multi-disciplinary approach to service provision, our surveyors are fully conversant with all current and planned legislation with a technical support team behind them to plug any knowledge gaps.
For us, it is not as simple as looking at projects in isolation, our surveying services are delivered from the perspective of the Client, contextualising each and every case, while providing a truly independent opinion, with practical and managed solutions.
GHPC can provide Party Wall Surveying, Condition & Dilapidations Surveys and Property Insurance Surveying services, as detailed below.
Party Wall Surveying
GHPC offers a comprehensive party wall surveying service, throughout England & Wales, delivered in full compliance with the Party Wall Act 1996.
We can fulfil any role as defined within the Act - as agreed surveyor, adjoining owner’s surveyor or the third surveyor, giving impartial & independent advice throughout.
Our advice extends to Developers, Builders and also those affected by construction works, regarding the requirements of the Act, ensuring that works are adequately planned, statutory notices are presented / received within required timescales, and ensuring that works are carried out in compliance with the law, dealing with adjoining owners and their surveyors (if appointed) to smooth over any issues, ultimately ensuring that works can be carried out within programme and without undue disruption to those affected by the works.

Building Owner's Surveyor
If you are the owner of a building looking to carry out building works on or near the boundary of an adjacent property (the party wall), we can provide you with advice regarding The Party Wall Act and can act for you in drawing up your Party Wall Award and agreeing how the works will be carried out with your neighbour(s).
Adjoining Owner(s)' Surveyor
If you own a property which may be affected by neighbouring building works (you may have been served a Party Wall Notice already), GHPC can act as your appointed surveyor to ensure your neighbour follows the requirements of The Party Wall Act.
Agreed Surveyor
The Building Owner and Adjoining Owner(s) can agree to use GHPC as the same surveyor - we are an independent, professional organisation which will act in the interests of both parties to agree and monitor the works and resolve disputes between the parties.
Schedule of Condition
It is best practice for your Party Wall Award to contain a schedule of the condition of the adjoining property - this is an important function which GHPC can carry out to create a full photographic record of the property, with the surveyor's observations and comments, which can often help to establish whether damage during the works was caused by the works or was existing.
Final Condition Survey
At the end of the works, if the award has allowed for it, GHPC can carry out a final condition survey of the Adjoining Property to determine whether the property has been affected by the works and to negotiate making good any issues or alternative settlement.
Building Surveying
GHPC offers a thoroughly commercial approach to Building Surveying, offering a range of services delivered from Chartered Professionals across the UK.

Fire-Related Surveying
Fire safety in construction has come under intense scrutiny in recent years following the Grenfell Tower disaster and the introduction of the Building Safety Act. GHPC can provide support services to clients, developers and contractors for fire-related compliance issues across the UK.

EWS1 Surveys & Forms
GHPC can provide you with an EWS1 service for buildings up to 18m. Our service involves inspection of the external wall systems of a building to make sure that it does not pose a fire risk to the people that may live or work inside it. The survey will identify if any remedial work is needed, and the findings of the survey are confirmed using an EWS1 Form.
Fire Safety & Compartmentation Surveys
GHPC can carry out passive fire protection and compartmentation surveys in line with Building Regulations Approved Document B, BS476, PAS 9980, and project fire strategy drawings.
We inspect:
-
Fire stopping of M&E penetrations
-
Cavity barriers in walls and façade systems
-
Roof voids, risers, and hidden service routes
-
Fire door installation, gaps, closers, and signage
-
Subdivision of floors and protected zones
-
Incomplete or poorly documented fire protection installations
Thermal Imaging Surveys
Thermal imaging helps identify performance issues, unseen moisture, and poor detailing that lead to energy loss or future defects.
Used for:
-
Cold bridging detection
-
Heat loss and insulation gaps
-
Underfloor heating mapping
-
Water ingress tracking in roofs or walls
-
Façade continuity checks in new builds
Reports include infrared imagery and side-by-side photographic comparisons.
